The tightest spreads

Trade popular cryptocurrencies like BTCUSD with the tightest spreads in the market.8

The spreads displayed in the table above are yesterday’s averages. Spreads are floating and may widen when markets experience lower liquidity, and this may persist until liquidity levels are restored. For live spreads, please refer to the trading platform.

Swaps

A swap is a charge or credit for holding a position overnight, and is applied once a day, Monday to Friday. Swap rates can change daily. Use our trading calculator to estimate what you may pay or earn for keeping a position open overnight. To cover the weekend rollover, a triple swap is applied to BTCUSD, ETHUSD, ETHBTC, and BTCUSDT positions held over a Friday night. For BTCXAU, BTCXAG, BTCTHB, BTCAUD, BTCZAR, and BTCCNH, the triple swap is applied on a Wednesday night. Public holidays may affect this schedule. Accounts registered in selected Islamic countries are swap-free by default. Read about swaps.

Fixed margin requirements

Margin requirements for all cryptocurrency pairs are fixed, regardless of the leverage you use on your account. View the table above for margin requirements per instrument, or use our trading calculator.

Frequently asked questions

To start crypto trading with Exness, open an account, complete the quick verification process, and fund your account using your preferred payment method. Once your account is set up, you choose your instrument, establish your CFD trading strategy, and manage your risk carefully to execute trades confidently.

Slippage happens when the price at which your trade is executed differs from the price you expected. This is typical in fast-moving or highly volatile crypto markets, where prices can change within seconds. With Exness, you can experience 3x less slippage thanks to our advanced execution algorithms and stable pricing.⁹

Leverage in CFD crypto trading allows you to open larger crypto positions with a smaller amount of capital. For example, if you’re trading with a leverage of 1:50, it means you can open a 5,000 USD trade with just 100 USD of your own funds.

While leverage amplifies potential profits, it also increases potential losses, so it should be used responsibly. To check the fixed leverage for each instrument, check the table above or use our crypto trading calculator.

Margin CFD trading means borrowing funds to increase your position size. When trading crypto on margin with Exness, you only need to deposit a fraction of the full trade value. This is known as the margin requirement. It gives you more market exposure but also comes with higher risk if the market moves against you. To check margin requirements, use our crypto trading calculator.

Cryptocurrency trading is available 24/7 except during server maintenance. We will email you to inform you when this occurs.

The following cryptocurrency pairs are in close-only mode: BTCAUD, BTCCNH, BTCJPY, BTCTHB, BTCZAR, BTCXAU, BTCXAG.

Fast execution is crucial in crypto trading because the market is highly volatile, with prices changing in milliseconds. Delays in trade execution can lead to slippage, where your order is filled at a less favorable price than expected.

Exness offers near-slippage-free execution on crypto assets, which allows traders to enter and exit positions at the price they want and respond quickly to market movements. This means you can seize opportunities faster or protect your earnings in adverse conditions. Whether you’re using the Exness platform or our crypto trading app, fast execution gives you better control of your trades and consistent results.

Trading costs—such as spreads and commissions—play a big role in your overall profitability when trading crypto. This is especially true for frequent traders or scalpers, where even small costs can add up.

With crypto CFDs, you’re speculating on price movements without owning the underlying cryptocurrency, which usually means no wallet fees, no blockchain transaction costs, and more leverage options compared to traditional crypto investing.

At Exness, BTCUSD spreads are 77% lower than the industry average,5 while ETHUSD spreads are 70% lower.6 This helps reduce the cost of trading these popular crypto pairs.

You can hedge cryptocurrency positions with a hedged margin of 0%. Please note, for ETHUSD, it is not possible to close orders for a volume less than 0.1 lot by hedge/partial closing.

At Exness, we know how it feels when your pending order falls in a price gap, so it’s only fair that we guarantee no slippage for virtually all pending orders that are executed at least 3 hours after trading opens for an instrument. However, if your order meets any of the following criteria, it will be executed at the first market quote that follows the gap:

  • If your pending order is executed in market conditions that are not normal, such as during a period of low liquidity or high volatility.

  • If your pending order falls in a gap but the difference in pips between the first market quote (after the gap) and the requested price of the order is equal to or exceeds a certain number of pips (slippage-free range) for a particular instrument.

Slippage rule applies to specific trading instruments.
